Worcester Festival 2016

We didn’t get first place this year in the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival at the Royal Grammar School.. that honour went to fellow barbershoppers the Anvil chorus from the West Midlands.. but there were two firsts for us.

It was the first competitive performance under the leadership of our new Musical Director Mike Gearey..well done MIke.

And it was the first public outing for our newest member, Tony Belmont from Tewkesbury. Great to have you on board Tony.

We may not have taken the trophy but we did achieve a Distinction. The Adjudicator, Hilary Webster,   said of us: “Very engaging singing , drawing us into your world”….. “lively and enjoyable”.  Well done chaps!

I'm a retired journalist, who worked for 40 years across newspapers, radio and television, the last 21 of those years with BBC MIdlands Today. I never imagined that I would be singing in a barbershop chorus but from the first night I went along I was hooked . My wife, Lynne, who's a pianist and piano teacher, has become a fan of Vale Harmony and is now VH's "official photographer".
