by Colin Pemberton·Comments Off on A Great Night Singing for the Rotary Club!
It was our biggest singout of the year…entertaining more than 100 members of the caravanning section of the Rotary Club. Their members came from all over the country to the Three Counties Showground at Malvern on 15th September where we entertained them after their dinner in the Teme Hall.
They were a fabulous audience and we had the pleasure of mingling with them during the interval .
Our thanks to the Rotarians for their generosity and we look forward to meeting them again one day.
Well done you guys (below) who came up out of the audience and had a go at singing with us. You were great! Now that you’ve found your voice, why not find a barbershop chorus near you? Log on to the British Association of Barbershop Singers and click on Chorus Locator..don’t let your voice go to waste !!
A huge thank you for all these lovely pictures to our “official photographer” Lynne Pemberton

Eddie, who’s a very young 82 years of age, is a stalwart of Vale Harmony, doing invaluable work as Engagements Secretary and events organiser.
Eddie, from Pinvin, says he would love to welcome to the chorus any newcomer who can sing alongside him and his fellow tenor Derek Styles. In barbershop, the tenor is effectively a male soprano and if you are reading this and you fit the part, contact us and we promise you a warm welcome.
If you would like to come and sing with us , please go to our Contact Us page or call 07766 524833. We rehearse every Wednesday at the St Andrew’s Centre, Church Street, Pershore at 7.45 to 10pm. We’d love to see you.
We had a great time in Harrogate, although we didn’t manage to come away with any trophies. It was a memorable time particularly for five of our 16 singers who were performing at Convention for the first time !
Competing against 34 other choruses, including the biggest and best of the nation’s barbershop singers, is no mean feat and they did an excellent job.
If you’d like to come and have fun singing with us we are open to all, whether you are already an accomplished singer or an absolute beginniner. Just send us an e-mail at [email protected] or drop in on one of our rehearsals. We rehearse every Wednesday night at St Andrews Centre in Pershore, opposite the Abbey, starting at 7.45pm.
A warm welcome awaits you.
And talking of newcomers, we say a big hello to two new guys who’ve done just that… one who was cycling by and dropped in on us and another who wasn’t sure whether or not he could sing. He now knows that he can sing and we’re delighted to have them both with us. Cheers chaps.
Dave Tresigne was voted Vale Harmony’s Barbershopper of the Year (BOTY) at the club’s annual dinner in April.
Dave, from Evesham, sings in the Lead Section of the chorus. The annual award goes to the member who’s done the most for the club during the year and it’s a thoroughly deserved honour for Dave for all his work to help keep the club running smoothly.
We’re delighted to say that Alzheimer’s Research UK benefitted to the tune of almost £2,000 from our fundraising efforts during 2017.
We made a total of £1,927.49……the bulk of it from our Christmas Crackerconcert at Pershore Abbey in December accompanied by our good friends from Bristol, the Great Western Chorus.
Zoe Baggott, the Regional Fundraising Officer for ARUK came to our rehearsal on Wednesday 7th Jan to present us with a Certificate (below) and we were delighted to be able to serenade her with half a dozen of our favourite songs. Pleased to be of help, Zoe, for such an important cause
